Pieter and Michael Background Pod Creative is a growing small business focused on providing ongoing web development services and social media services at reasonable rates to other small businesses and community organizations. We are looking to train and hire an Administrative and Webwork Assistant to help deal with the workload and expand our creative team.  General Duties The Administrative and Webwork Assistant position is a new full time position within our organisation that will report to the Owner and work with our current staff. The Administrative and Webwork Assistant will: carry out office administration tasks update and maintain websites and other social media elements under the direction and guidance of the Owner and senior staff Specific Tasks Answer phones and emails and direct them appropriately Blog for Pod Creative on relevant topics approved by the Owner Manage Pod Creative’s newsletter Create and maintain records in the following areas as directed  expenses  clients and projects invoices  time tracking Use online web development and social media applications as specified by Pod Creative, such as HTML, CSS, PHP, WordPress, Freshbooks, Facebook....

Tickets to Y2K Spitfire Homecoming Gala Almost Sold Out

The Gala Banquet on August 8th draws closer and tickets are going quickly.  With only 50 tickets remaining, your opportunity to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime historic event is almost over.  The banquet will be held in #14 Hangar at 19 Wing Comox, the home of 442 Squadron. Our guest of honor will be Wing Commander Stocky Edwards, a WWII veteran.  The Y2K Spitfire aircraft will be in the hangar for viewing, as will a Vampire aircraft which is another aircraft that Stocky flew.   Stocky welcomed Dave Hadfield to the valley on Tuesday, July 31st when the Y2K Spitfire landed at 19 Wing in Comox.  You can watch a quick video of the event here. Join us at World Community’s 27th Annual Film Festival

World Community (est. 1990 in the Comox Valley) is a community of advocates working to foster a greater awareness of the social, economic and environmental consequences of human activity at both the local and global levels. The organisation’s flagship event is BC’s longest running social justice documentary Film Festival.  The film festival screens current documentary films featuring the major emerging human development issues in our changing world.  The festival runs Friday & Saturday Feb. 2 – 3, 2018 in Courtenay, BC Pod Creative has a long standing relationship with World Community and is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of this year’s film festival.  We will have a table at the bazaar and would love it if you stopped by and said hi.  We will be sharing our table with Tide Change. Pod Creative Tide Change.ca is a website designed to serve the people of the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, B.C. by regularly delivering current, relevant, hyper-local content. People are overwhelmed with news from around the world and local stories and events are easily overlooked. That’s where Tide Change comes in.  Their primary focus is the Comox Valley and surrounding areas.  News is updated regularly, highlighting local events and local interest stories. Tide Change was a project of World Community Development Education Society known locally as World Community.  The society provided seed money in 2008 to help initiate Tide Change and continued to subsidize the project until 2017, when it was handed over to the team at Pod Creative. Youth Media Project is a program for community action through media involving 9 participants between the ages of 16 – 30. In this 13-week program, youth receive training in video production, gain employability skills, and work with a network of community partners to create videos through work placements – highlighting community resources, and presenting ideas for community change. The project welcomes all youth, including immigrant youth, Aboriginal youth, street- involved youth and others who face barriers to employment.
