The finale to the 2012 ‘Keeping it Living’ campaign is fast approaching, this Saturday, July 28 at the K’omoks Band Hall & shoreline.
It looks like it will be good weather for the estuary flotilla, the nature walks & the salmon BBQ, and inside the Band Hall will be displays & activities, especially the ‘Art for the Estuary’. Over 30 artists have submitted more than 50 artworks including painting, photography, mixed media, glass & metal art.
The ‘Keeping it Living’ campaign is raising awareness for the protection & restoration of the Courtenay River (K’omoks) Estuary, as well as a fundraiser, so there are many ways to contribute your support: from sponsorships of $25 for an art poster, $100 for a limited edition art print, or bidding on the beautiful artworks starting from $100 to $3500. With the season of weddings now underway, any of the artworks would be a beautiful gift for such an event or other special occasion. For your out-of-town visitors, they may be interested in taking home an inspiring reminder of their time in the Comox Valley.
