It been an interesting 2 weeks since my daughter was born. Filled with lessons and chores and tasks and joys aplenty. I am struck by the sheer amount of networks putting out invitations to events, Facebook pages, websites etc.
Here’s a few featuring top-of-my-mind:
- TedX Comox Valley
- Young Professionals Comox Valley
- CV Global Awareness Network
- The stand against the ominous Omnibus Bill (Bill C-10 is another Harper-government shocker)
- Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce
- World Community (and World Community on Facebook)
- Kali Loves Aphrodite: A workshop in compassion and fear by Joanna Finch
- BNI Momentum in addition to the existing BNI Comox Valley chapter
Looking at my Facebook Event invitations there are more than 20 others that would have been interesting to attend too.
It begs the question: “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a central calendar where we could go to see what events are planned for specific dates? Wouldn’t it be even better if this calendar was in a generally usable, publicly accessible and easy-to-share format like a Google Calendar?”
That’s the whole idea behind the new Tidechange.ca Calendar. Go check it out!
