We invite you to the Keeping it Living Estuary Art Exhibit and Silent Auction Opening.

This event will take place on Thursday May 6th from 7-10pm at Zocalo Cafe and Gallery on the corner of 5th and Cliff.

We will be celebrating the beauty and diversity of the Arts, the Estuary and our Community in the Comox Valley. The evening will start with a short presentation from Project Watershed on the Courtenay River Estuary – its importance, uniqueness and the activities occurring on and around it. This will be followed by a musical performance by Joanna Finch. Finger foods will be available.

Artists have been submitting works into the silent auction since September and now it’s your chance to see what they have created. A portion of the funds raised by this auction will go to Project Watershed to help preserve and restore the estuary; giving you the opportunity to invest in the arts and the beauty of our natural environment.

The estuary inspired art will be on display at Zocalo, Carderos, Blue Heron Books, Otter’s Kitchen Cove and Seeds Food Market from May 6th to 27th. This month long exhibit will include a benefit concert with Doug Cox, Todd Butler and friends at Zocalos on the 13th and the grand finale – a Gala Gathering at Courtenay and District Fish and Game Hall on the 29th. Come and enjoy the artwork, music and a glass of wine with the artists, friends and neighbours.

RSVP to the event on Facebook.
