Watch these recommended videos!
This first video by Mak is an incredibly helpful tool for getting your WooCommerce shop up and running! Yes, it is just over 1.5 hours long but by the end of this complete WooCommerce tutorial video you will be well on your way to finishing your online shop.
One little caveat, this video is geared towards Divi WordPress users, Mak does have another video that is geared towards users who do not have a specific page build.
This walkthrough, also by the talented Mak, is a fantastic tutorial on creating a custom shop page using Divi! Creating custom shop pages can enhance your branding, add style, and tie your shop into the rest of your website.
The next two videos (again, thank you Mak!) walk you through how to create a custom WooCommerce Product Category Page with Divi’s Theme Builder, and how to create a custom checkout page design in Divi respectively. While you don’t have to customize your WooCommerce shop, we highly recommend it. Customizing your pages and products allow for a uniform look and feel of your branding throughout the e-commerce shop.
An eCommerce site brings a whole new ball game of requirements including ensuring the required SSL is up to date and keeping an eye on both sales and stock to provide your customers with a positive experience. At the end of the day, the positive experience your customers have lies with you, the store owner. A web team can assist in establishing your online shop but you or your staff must manage the store.

This article by Elegant Themes is a great overview of the cost of WooCommerce. Yes, the plugin is free, but there are other costs that can really add up. However, please keep in mind that some of the costs listed in the article are optional!
Elegant Themes posted this great article on the importance of inventory management for your online shop. If your shop is strictly online only (as in no over the counter sales or market sales) then inventory management can be managed in Woocommerce with relative simplicity. (The tricky part is remembering to manage your inventory, if your online store’s inventory is connected to a physical store’s inventory. If you sell something in your brick and mortar shop (or farmers market table) it won’t automatically update in wooCommerce.)
Ok, so you’ve mastered all that. Now what?
Let’s get a bit more technical! Are you wanting to customize even further than Divi can? Dig into the Woocommerce API? With this article from Elegant Themes, you can learn all about the WooCommerce API and what you can adjust with it.
In our opinion, Woocommerce is our go-to plugin for turning your WordPress site into an online shop! This powerful plugin may seem intimidating but with the resources above we are confident you can learn all you need to about Woocommerce.
